Sandbach East

Sandbach is an attractive market town with historic buildings, landmarks and an array of interesting and varied shopping outlets, together with friendly and welcoming tea/coffee houses, restaurants and public houses. At the heart of the town is the Market Square [The Cobbles'] and the iconic Sandbach Crosses.

During the last 12 months, local and external funding has been secured to enablenumerous projects to be delivered, with partnership and voluntary involvement.

The main objective has been to improve the landscape and street-scene, whilst building on the development of the Sandbach Enterprise Centre in Wesley Avenue.

Successful achievements have included the Market Square regeneration and also significant improvements to the public realm, with new sign-posts, benches, waste bins, notice boards, planters and hanging baskets.

Public consultation on concept designs for Sandbach Park improvements is underway.

Your Conservative Councillors continue to work with partners [e.g. the Town Council, Cheshire Police and Registered Social Landlords] to improve the well being of the community and quality of life. This includes the promotion of Sandbach within Cheshire East Council to ensure that the town's character and individuality is retained.

Roads and Highways

In accordance with Cheshire East Council's new policy and guidance for roads and highways changes, your Councillors are working to prioritise proposed alterations and improvements [e.g. traffic calming measures, speed limit reviews, pedestrian crossings and parking restrictions] so that funding can be allocated to appropriate schemes, in due course. Nearly all of these proposed schemes are based on concerned residents' feedback and issues.
