Your Conservative Party Candidate for Congleton at the next General Election

Fiona Bruce was recently selected at an Open Primary - a meeting open to all residents in the Congleton Constituency - to succeed Ann Winterton MP as your Parliamentary Candidate for the next General Election - which must be called by May 2010 at the latest.

Fiona has lived and worked in Cheshire for over 20 years. She is a Solicitor who has run her own Community Law Firm in Stockton Heath throughout that time and is an Award Winning Businesswoman. She is the National Winner of the Businesswoman of the Year Award "Women Into Business", for the successful startup and development of her business, Fiona Bruce & Co LLP.

Fiona is married to Richard, a Chartered Surveyor, who was born and brought up in Cheshire, as are their two sons aged 16 and 13. Richard worked for many years for Frank Marshall & Co, the Cheshire agricultural land agents, and they live as a family in Northwich, just a few minutes from the Congleton constituency boundary. Fiona says:

" I am delighted to have been selected as the Conservative Party Candidate for Congleton. I am determined to get to know as many people here as I can, between now and the next General Election - so you really can know the person you are being asked to vote for.

People ask me "Why are you in politics?". The reason is this: I look at the world that my two boys are growing up in, and think "It could be so much better than this. We have a choice. We can stay on the sidelines, or we can get involved, and try to make a positive difference. I've chosen to get involved."
